I have been the Marketing Coordinator with Johnson, Harris & Goff, for over 14 years. I truly enjoy interacting with our contacts and clients. I do the little things such as order the pens, coffee mugs and calendars we provide, assist with press releases, organize workshops and events and buy flowers for the office. The website and newsletter are also under my care, and these help me keep you informed of tax law changes, notices and other issues that may affect your taxes or businesses.
A far cry from marketing, but another area I have assisted with and find interesting, is working on estates. I enjoy researching records, determining the existence and values of life insurance policies and stock certificates, obtaining values of property, determining the assets and legal titling of them before beneficiary distributions are made.
You may or may not realize that all our CPAs have continuing education requirements that they must meet every year in order to renew their license. I research the seminars and education opportunities that are available and ascertain that our CPAs are in compliance with state regulations. I also enjoy marketing to our staff, especially during tax season with little breaks, special lunches and activities to help keep our staff energized during the long workday!
