Armando G. Roman, CPA, MBA, PFS

I help people pay less income taxes, help them protect what they have, and help them take care of various financial matters relating to their business and personal finances.  I start by looking at a client’s overall situation, starting with the question in mind of  “Where are you right now?”  I ask why they came to see me so that I can begin to learn what is going on.  I tell prospective new clients that if I can’t convince them in the first 10 minutes of meeting with me that I am the right CPA for them, then I’m not the right CPA for them.  Often I am, but sometimes I need to refer them to another CPA, a bookkeeper or an attorney.  I’ve been a CPA for over 20 years and held securities licenses for 10 years.  During this time, I’ve learned a lot about business, taxes, liability, investments, etc.  I created my own CPA firm and, after 14 years growing and managing that firm, I merged it into Johnson, Harris & Goff PLLC.  I created my own wealth management practice.  I have successfully developed market niches.  I have owned commercial and residential investment real estate.  I have served on the board of directors of a local community bank and served twice on the board of directors of the largest association of CPA’s in Arizona.  Over the past 20 years, I have volunteered hundreds of hours of service to nonprofit entities by serving on their boards of directors.  I always learn more from them than they learn from me.  Each of these experiences has helped me become a better CPA, a better financial advisor.  I am like many of the small business owners who come to see me, so it is very easy for me to relate to them and talk with them in very plain English (and sometimes Spanish).
